Numeracy online material

Paper based resources

The national math centre contains many paper-based resources covering a wide range of topics. The quick reference leaflets (e.g. Ratio, Fractions, Decimals, Rules of Arithmetic) or Numeracy Refresher Booklet are ideal to use if you need a refresher. However, if you need more explanation then teach-yourself booklets are more ideal. You can download and print these resources and work through them in your own time and at your own place.

The website gives free access to Open University course materials. This is the LearningSpace where you'll find hundreds of free study units. The MU120 units are designed to help you become more familiar with how ratios, proportions and percentages can be manipulated. These units explain the basics of working with positive and negative numbers and how to multiply and divide with fractions and decimals etc.

Each unit is with a discussion forum. Study independently at your own pace or join a group and use the free learning tools to work with others.
